Our Estate

Écueil

The Champagne Allouchery-Bailly is located in the heart of la Montagne de Reims, in the village of Écueil. The vineyard is composed of 5.5 ha in the villages of Écueil, Villedommange, Chamery and Sacy, classified as Premier cru.

Premier Cru estate

As a real balcony of la Montagne de Reims, the Premier cru Écueil village offers a breathtaking panoramic view of our vineyard. The Pinot Noir reigns supreme within my estate and covers more than 3.6 hectares, before the Pinot Meunier and the Chardonnay.

The terroir of this region is extremely diversified and gives the wines a unique gastronomic richness. Indeed, the Écueil vineyard is planted on formations deposited over a period of 75-30 million years BC. The different layers (chalk, sand, clay, limestone, marls…) make it a soil especially rich. This minerality gives the grapes all their tension, their crunchy and fruity character, typical of the Écueil region.

At the pace of nature

Vine work needs a great reactivity. Day after day, I have to deal with the external elements, follow the rhythm imposed by mother nature to produce the best grape. I have to be flexible to juggle the wherewithal and adapt to the different situations.

An integrated wine-growing

I am concerned about my environmental impact and, as my parents initiated, I am practising an integrated wine-growing approach by limiting the use of plant health care products. The natural grass cover-cropping is present in my plots for several years, and I practice plowing under the row of my vines.
